Your Right to Delete Data

You have the right to request deletion of your personal data under GDPR, CCPA, and UAE Data Protection Law. This page explains what data can be deleted and how to request deletion.

What Data Can Be Deleted

Local Data (On Your Device)

The following data is stored locally on your device and can be deleted by you:

  • ✅ User credentials (UUID, email, password)
  • ✅ VPN credentials (username/password, tokens)
  • ✅ Connection history
  • ✅ Server preferences (favorite servers, recent servers)
  • ✅ Bandwidth statistics
  • ✅ VPN status information

How to Delete Local Data:

Option 1: Uninstall the App

  1. Go to Android Settings
  2. Find "Apps" or "Application Manager"
  3. Find "Secure VPN Lock"
  4. Tap "Uninstall"
  5. All local data will be deleted

Option 2: Clear App Data

  1. Go to Android Settings
  2. Find "Apps" or "Application Manager"
  3. Find "Secure VPN Lock"
  4. Tap "Storage"
  5. Tap "Clear Data" or "Clear Storage"
  6. All local data will be deleted (app will remain installed)

Option 3: Use App's Clear Data Feature (If Available)

If the app has a "Clear All Data" feature in settings, you can use that to delete local data.

VPNWholesaler Data (Service Data)

VPNWholesaler (our VPN infrastructure provider) retains certain connection data for legal and compliance purposes. This data is stored on their servers in the USA.

Data Retained by Service Provider:

  • ⚠️ Connection Metadata: IP address, connection timestamps, bandwidth usage (Retained up to 12 months)
  • ⚠️ Account Info: Your auto-generated VPN account credentials

How to Request Service Data Deletion:

Because this data is held by our infrastructure partner to comply with US laws, deletion requests must be processed formally. You can initiate this process through us:

Option 1: Automated Email Request (Recommended)

Use the form below to generate a pre-formatted deletion request. This will open your email client with all necessary technical identifiers associated with your account.

Note: We act as your agent to forward this request to the data controller (VPNWholesaler). They are legally required to process valid GDPR/CCPA requests within 30 days.

Option 2: Direct Contact

You may also contact the data controller directly if you prefer:

  • Email: privacy@vpnwholesaler.com
  • Required details: You MUST include your VPN Username (found in app settings) for them to locate your records.

Important Limitations:

  • Retention Period: Data legally required for fraud prevention or anti-abuse measures may be retained for the full 12-month period despite a deletion request, as permitted by GDPR Art. 17(3)(b) and (e).
  • Service Termination: Deleting your account data will actively terminate your VPN service immediately.

Deletion Process Timeline

  1. Request Submitted: You submit a deletion request via email or form
  2. Verification (1-3 days): We verify your identity and locate your account
  3. Processing (up to 30 days): We process your request:
    • For local data: We guide you on how to delete it yourself
    • For VPNWholesaler data: We forward your request to VPNWholesaler or you contact them directly
  4. Confirmation: You receive confirmation that deletion has been processed

Note: Some data may be retained for legal or fraud prevention purposes, but we will inform you if this applies to your request.

What Cannot Be Deleted

Some data may not be deleted if:

  • It is required by law (e.g., for tax or legal compliance)
  • It is in backups (will be deleted in next backup cycle)
  • It is anonymized/aggregated data (cannot identify you)
  • It is necessary for fraud prevention (may be retained longer)

We will inform you if any data cannot be deleted and explain why.
